3 Days and 3 Nights

Jesus stays in the tomb three days and three nights.

Then Jesus rose from the dead as he said he would.

1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

Sabbath in Greek is in the plural Sabbaths.

In Matthew 28:1, which speaks of the women coming to the tomb, there is a mistranslation in English. The Greek text clearly says, “After the Sabbaths were passed,” Sabbaths being plural. Why is that significant?
